What to Expect

First Day:
I strive to provide the best care possible and will meet with the client and their
family to create a personalized care plan specifically designed to meet the client’s
needs.
Safety is my first priority and I will perform a home assessment and suggest any
adaptive devices to ensure client safety, comfort and well being. I will ask the
primary caregiver about the client’s limitations and perform a health assessment if
appropriate.

What will happen:

As the owner of Caring Hands Maui the client is my first priority. Establishing a
relationship of quality care, concern and trust is very important to me. I will ask
about your hobbies, interests and set a care plan to include your goals, needs and
how you prefer to have the necessary tasks performed in a timely manner.
I will review your personalized Care Plan with the information you provided that is
specific to your needs with you.I will work with you to develop a task and chore
schedule based on your normal routine.
If appropriate, I will make a list of your food preferences. We can discuss what you
would like included in your meal plans, favorite recipes and be mindful of any
dietary restrictions. I believe that good nutritionally balanced meals play an
important role in maintaining fitness, strength and good health overall.

Remember that part of your function is to stay active and involved. Together as a
care team I will find ways for the client to be involved. You may find that sharing
tasks, becoming involved in your own care makes you very happy, gives you a
sense of empowerment and a sense of purpose. I strive to promote independence
as much as possible.

Billing:
I will invoice bi-monthly once you are on a regular billing cycle. On the bottom right
of the invoice you will see your total charges for services. I accept private pay by
check or cash.

Visits:
I will make time for the primary caregiver to ensure the care plan is meeting your
expectations. This is your private time with me to look through the care plan for any
updates or information. If you have any concerns, have questions, or want to add
more resources, this is a great opportunity for you to voice your concerns or needs.
Holidays:
When statutory holidays come up, you will receive a call to confirm whether you
would like service or not. You have the choice to have service (at 1.5 times the
rate), choose an alternate day during the week or cancel service on that day. If you
have plans to go away on holiday or have a family visit, please call me and let me
know as soon as you are able if there will be an adjustment to the schedule.
